Big Walk — Where Silence Becomes a Game Mechanic.

Imagine this: you and your friends set out to explore a vast, unfamiliar island.

At first, everything is going perfectly. You are chatting, joking around, solving puzzles together, and confidently making your way forward.

Then someone notices something interesting and wanders off the path. Another person follows. You turn around — and suddenly half the group is gone.

You call out their names, but all you hear in return is silence.

That is how Big Walk works — a new cooperative game from the creators of Untitled Goose Game. Its voice chat is tied to distance: the farther away your friend is, the harder they are to hear. And once they wander too far, the connection disappears completely.

You have to shout, signal with a flashlight, wave your arms, and scan the horizon, hoping to catch sight of a familiar silhouette.

That is exactly why using Discord here is almost like looking up the answer to a puzzle. Constant communication removes the situations the game was built around: getting lost, trying to find your friends, and suddenly hearing someone’s distant voice again.

Big Walk has none of the usual rush for higher levels, rare gear, or daily rewards. The main event is the story that accidentally happens to you and your friends during an otherwise ordinary walk.

Maybe a great cooperative game does not always need a powerful enemy to defeat together.

Sometimes, simply losing each other in the woods is enough.

What do you think: does proximity voice chat make cooperative games more interesting, or would not being able to communicate properly just become frustrating?
